DESCRIPTION:Join special guests Joshua Trey Barnett\, Talley V. Kayser\, an
 d Ian Marshall as they present their work around the topic of ecological m
 ourning\, followed by an opportunity to engage in a discussion about our e
 cological state as it is right now. \nJoshua Trey Barnett is the author of
  the forthcoming book\, Mourning in the Anthropocene: Ecological Grief and
  Earthly Coexistence (Michigan State University Press). He is an assistant
  professor in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences at Penn St
 ate\, where he holds a joint appointment at the Huck Institutes of the Lif
 e Sciences. \n\nTalley V. Kayser teaches The Adventure Literature Series\
 , a range of college courses that combine literary study with outdoor expe
 ditions\, at Penn State. Her poetry and nonfiction examine the entangled r
 elationships — mournful and otherwise — among humans\, other species\,
  and the places we share. \nA former president of the Association for the
  Study of Literature and Environment\, Ian Marshall is a recently retired 
 professor emeritus of English and environmental studies at Penn State Alto
 ona. He is the author of four books of literary ecocriticism and a collect
 ion of poems\, and the editor of Reading Shaver's Creek: Ecological Reflec
 tions from an Appalachian Forest. \nRegister\nRegistration is encouraged
