In my current role at Shaver’s Creek, I find myself building relationships with those around me and the natural world through projects that invite an understanding of the interrelationships around us. Whether it is “stump sitting” at a local hawk watch or crossing paths with a landowner at a grocery store that provided a fence post for an American Kestrel nestbox, I have witnessed how Shaver’s Creek has provided our basic need of a sense of belonging to the flora and fauna around us.
