After graduation, I’m going to go work in outdoor education for a few seasons. Shaver’s Creek changed my life—before Outdoor School, I was looking for engineering roles in manufacturing, but the time I spent at Camp Blue Diamond totally changed that! I was able to do ODS both semesters my senior year, and I fell in love with environmental education, subsequently changing my post-grad plans to include it. ODS also renewed my passion for being outside and appreciating the unique ecosystems around us, whether that’s sitting by the lake at Stone Valley or hiking in Rothrock State Forest. Shaver’s Creek is (in my opinion) the absolute best part of Penn State and such a unique and wonderful organization.
