I was a block student in 1998. It was by far the best semester of college I had during my 4 years at PSU.

Current Company/Organization: I do what a lot of DOC employees do these days, work at NAPA.
After graduation in 1998, I pursued jobs in the parks and recreation field. Hoping to work for the National Parks Service, I quickly found out that many of these jobs individuals have, they don’t retire from because they are incredible positions to have. I met a park employee at Yellowstone that was in his 90s at the time, and passed away instead of retiring. Needless to say, I never got the job with the NPS. Instead, I was employed with the PA Department of Corrections as a corrections activities specialist at SCI Camp Hill. I worked there for 22 years and retired from the state in October of 2023.
