Wood, Rich

The staff at Shaver’s Creek taught me how to share my love of nature and the outdoors with others, in a meaningful and respectful way.

Years at Shaver’s Creek: 1985–1987

Positions Held: Outdoor School, Undergraduate Student

Current Company/Organization: Retired

After being involved in EE, interpretation, and park management for 37 years in a variety of positions, I recently retired as the education & outreach coordinator for Headwaters Soil and Water Conservation District in Virginia. The roots of my passion and enthusiasm began at Shaver’s Creek, when I was fortunate enough to get enrolled in the block term. It grew into a successful and very rewarding career that blended into my everyday life!
