Join Shaver’s Creek staff Alexa Sarussi for a free, in-person morning of nature journaling at Tom Tudek Memorial Park!
The Community Garden at Tom Tudek Memorial Park has existed since 2005 and is a thriving patchwork of vegetables, flowers, birds, and pollinators, stewarded by community members. Horses sometimes graze in the fenced pasture next to the gardens. We’ll mostly observe, sketch, and write from outside the perimeter of the garden fence to ensure that we respect the gardeners’ plants and plots. Please utilize the parking lot and street parking closest to the dog park, on Park Crest Lane.
All ages, families, and individuals are welcome. We encourage parents to bring children who express genuine interest in nature drawing, but ask that they monitor their behavior. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult participant.
