I fell in love with Shaver’s Creek during my internship and have taken every opportunity to come back since I left.

I am currently a residence hall director and supervise a staff of 15 undergraduate students. Being at Shaver’s Creek and learning what it is like to lead and be a part of a team has allowed me to be successful in my current role. From managing volunteers at the Halloween trail to budgeting the Maple Harvest Festival breakfast, I got a taste of so many different things that I would end up doing in my career. The beauty of the internship is that you get exposed to so many different avenues in the field of outdoor education and programming, and you take pieces of all of it and apply it to where you end up.
