As an officer with the Pennsylvania State University Recreation and Parks Student Society, I volunteered with the Maple Harvest Festival after first visiting Shaver’s Creek to assist team building groups. At 54 years old, I am still inspired by natural nature.

Struggling with a lengthly physiological health issue, I count my blessings and am thankful for what measure of recovery I have arrived to and continue to arrive. The community of Shaver’s Creek is a favorite from my years at Penn State and my receiving an education in Health and Human Development, earning my degree and path with Leisure Studies/ Recreation and Parks. While fiscal earnings have been elusive with interest in project work municipally and seasonal work with the National Parks (including milestone Grand Canyon celebration), my Quakerly commitment from my own ethical genuine integrity to uphold honoring and respecting wilderness and the very definition, including the fact wilderness is “untrammeled by man,” is undeterred. I have advocated against 5G in our national parks out of pocket while being on SSI/disability physiologically and have had writing published on the issue of humane humanity and the fact “Do NO harm” IS the law. Eco-friendly habitat and practicing the precautionary principle, including for honey bees and pollinators, is to recognize that humanity is just ONE species of life on this planet, and we don’t have the right to be harming just because we want faster internet.
