Shaver’s Creek is a magical place of giving and receiving. Every day, there was something new to marvel at and learn from. Even now, having been retired for thirteen years, I remember the lid being taken off the large Rubbermaid tub to reveal the huge snapping turtle or the gentle fern growing in the V of a tree trunk. There were colleagues with so much knowledge and experience to share. Now I can share the joys of the natural world with our grandkids. It has been a beautiful journey.
