When I migrated to Pennsylvania to work at Shaver’s Creek, I met lifelong friends with whom I am still in contact. I was mentored and learned even better how to teach and lead people in the outdoors. I shared that with not only SCEC interns, Outdoor School counselors and Penn State students, but with others for the rest of my career afterwards. After migrating back west and further north, I worked in tourism and education for the next 35 years in Alaska. Now retired and living in WA with my husband (former SCEC maintenance and High Ropes technician), we have time to actually identify some new birds!
