I am so grateful to have had Shaver’s Creek as a part of my journey, from being a camper as a kid, to a LIT, to naturalist. Summer camp taught me to slow down and enjoy every little thing around me.
Since my two summers as a naturalist at Shaver’s Creek, I have graduated from Cal Poly and begun working in outdoor education. Recently, I have worked for the PA Outdoor Corps in Philadelphia and currently work as a naturalist at Walker Creek Outdoor School in Northern California. I owe Shaver’s Creek for my introduction to careers connecting people to nature, and showing me the impacts, big and small, of this work. Nothing beats a Pennsylvania summer!
