Rental Overview and Policies
Shaver’s Creek has several venues available for rental. Please use our Rental Inquiry Form to request information about the availability of venues. We rent venues for invitation-only events such as retirement/rehearsal dinners, family/class reunions, and staff meetings/retreats. You may not host events that are open to the public.
We will work with you to determine best use of space to accommodate your guests and ensure a successful event. We are also happy to furnish the room with dry erase boards, easels, extension cords, power strips, and poster display boards as needed.
If you are a non–Penn State organization, you will need to provide us with a Certificate of Insurance (COI) prior to confirming your reservation. This certificate must reflect a general liability policy of up to $1 million and name Shaver’s Creek as an additional insured entity. Once the certificate has been received, you will be sent a contract for signature.
Food and Beverages
We do not have food services available on-site, and you are responsible for your own food and beverages. You may choose to bring food for your event, such as deli trays and boxed lunches, or you may reach out to local caterers. When exploring catering options, you may choose any vendor who has proper licensure from the Department of Agriculture to serve food. All spaces are able to be set for catering, with buffet tables, a separate drink table, and receptacles for trash, compost, and recycling.
In accordance with Shaver’s Creek and Penn State policies, consuming alcoholic beverages and smoking/vaping are not permitted.

Outdoor and Hamer Classrooms together
- 2,400 sq. feet
- Seats up to 180 people
- A/V equipment available
- Hamer Classroom can be set up as one large room or separated into two rooms
Pricing
All rental spaces require a minimum of a three-hour rental. Prices include set up and tear down by Shaver’s Creek staff.

Rental Inquiry Form
Rental requests can be made at least three weeks in advance and no more than six months out. A minimum of three hours per day is required. Once you complete this form, a member of our operations team will contact you within three business days to discuss your plans, review setup options, and prepare you for a successful event.
