Before getting involved with Shaver’s Creek, I didn’t know environmental education was a field, and now it’s what I want to spend my life doing.
Years at Shaver’s Creek: 2022–2026
Positions Held: Intern, Outdoor School, Summer Camp, Volunteer
Current Company/Organization: Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center
I was first connected with Shaver’s Creek through Outdoor School as a Penn State student. After graduating, I worked as a naturalist at Shaver’s Creek summer camp and am now part of the fall 2025/spring 2026 intern cohort. Throughout the internship, I have learned so much about how to teach outdoors and be more observant of the world. I feel tremendously lucky to work with and learn from such incredible, knowledgeable people. After the internship, I will be a bike touring guide at a summer camp in New Hampshire, and after that, who knows what!?
When I’m not doing intern things, you can find me biking, birding, attempting to cook a overly complicated New York Times recipe, or picking up a new hobby and promptly forgetting about it.
