Experience hummingbirds at Shaver’s Creek to learn about the adaptations that hummingbirds have that allow them to not only survive, but thrive as the one of the world’s smallest birds! Participants will learn through hands-on activities what life is like for a “hummer” and have a chance to design their own hummingbird to keep them company year-round. We’ll explore the grounds of Shaver’s Creek to learn what makes a successful hummingbird habitat, including what you can do to invite hummingbirds into your yard or space!
We will meet in our Silvi Classroom, located in the Visitor Center, but be sure to dress for the weather because we will try to be outside for a portion of the event, weather permitting.
Can’t make it out to one of the events? The activities will be available at our Visitor Center following each week’s experience!
