Every year, the first Saturday of September is International Vulture Awareness Day — a day to celebrate the essential role of these graceful giants in ecosystems around the world.
Join us in the Klingsberg Aviary to learn about the vultures of Pennsylvania and the world. We will have stations for all ages to learn about, and interact with, the stars of the day: Neo the Turkey Vulture and Matilda the Black Vulture! A live vulture walk will take place at 1:00 p.m.
Stations will include making enrichment for the birds, coloring activities, vulture bingo, and much more!
This event is free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of Shaver’s Creek members. Registration is not required.
