Get excited for Maple Harvest Fest!!!

Maple syrup harvesting season is fast approaching, and here at Shaver’s Creek we are hard at work making sure we are prepared when it comes time to start tapping trees! Things are really coming together in anticipation of the Maple Harvest Festival at the end of March– the new syrup evaporator arrived on Friday, February 11, and the Sugar Shack has undergone some exciting renovations in expectation of the new arrival.

The brief interlude of warm weather was welcomed for many reasons. The feeling of spring was a happy reminder that the cold, dreary days of winter will soon yield to warmth and color! We were also able to take advantage of the unseasonable mildness to remove some old boards from the ground in the Sugar Shack and lay brick on the floor below the evaporator.

So mark your calendars for the weekend of March 26th and 27th, and plan to spend the day with us touring our sugarbush, spending time at the teaching stations, listening to great live music, climbing our climbing wall, and of course, enjoying delicious pancakes and sausage with real, mouth-watering maple syrup!
