Why stop botanizing just because it’s winter? This one-day workshop will teach you how to identify common woody plants using characteristics of the bark, twigs, and buds as well as other salient attributes. Collected and herbarium specimens will be used to illustrate different trees and shrubs. Participants will have an opportunity to practice their skills on a guided walk. Please dress for the weather and bring a lunch (snacks and water will be provided).
Please note: Once you register for this program, you’ll receive additional instructions about parking and accessing Shaver’s Creek while we are closed for construction.
Cost: $20/person
This workshop is in partnership with The Pennsylvania State University Herbarium (PAC).
Space is limited. Registration is required.
