Kids Corner

When: February 10, 2021, 10:00 am – 10:30 am
Add to Calendar: iCal | Google

Kids Corner is a fun way to explore nature with your young children at Shaver’s Creek Environmental Center. Each program is designed for toddlers and pre-K children with an accompanying adult. Kids Corner themes change each season, so families can enjoy a new topic each week! Activities may include nature-based crafts, stories, lessons, and games both inside and outside the center — so come dressed for the weather!

The lessons, stories, and activities from each week’s Kids Corner event will remain open the rest of the week as a self-guided activity in the Discovery Room during regular center hours, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Feel free to pack a zero-waste lunch when you visit the center, and after Kids Corner is over, stick around to explore the Discovery Room, enjoy the Raptor Center, and visit the bookstore and gift shop!

How Much Does It Cost?

The best part is that Kids Corner is FREE and open to the public, thanks to the generous support of Shaver’s Creek members!

Registration is not required—you can just show up!

We are excited to offer Kids Corner virtually! Our fantastic environmental educators will engage in fun and educational activities at Shaver’s Creek via thirty-minute Zoom programs for parents and preschool-aged children to enjoy at home. We hope you have fun, garner inspiration, and enhance your own nature explorations!

The theme for this Kids Corner is Nature in the Day.

Please have paper, markers, and/or crayons on hand and ready prior to the event!

This is a program for younger children, and an adult caretaker is required to stay with the child for the duration of the program. Participant video, microphone, and chat will be turned off, and participants will only be able to see and hear the Shaver’s Creek presenters on Zoom. Chat will only be available for staff to see and respond to individually.
