Our Butterfly Coloring Book (PDF, 4MB), courtesy of Margaret Teuber, includes 17 families of Pennsylvania butterflies for kids to express their creativity. Pictures of the butterflies are included below in case you would like to show your attention to detail.
During her time at Penn State, Margaret Teuber completed her Master’s thesis on citizen science and phone applications. She wanted to compare different ways that people can use their phones to identify butterflies and in doing so she created a field guide type application for Android called Pennsylvania Butterflies. In this application, Margaret created generalized illustrations of different butterfly families and subfamilies to help people identify butterflies. She realized that these illustrations could be used as a fun and educational coloring book that the whole family can enjoy!
