Join Shaver’s Creek staff Alexa Sarussi for a free, in-person morning of nature journaling at Pasto Agricultural Museum to observe and draw samples of natural history collections from a variety of Penn State museums. We’ll have microscopes and magnifying lenses available to help you explore and record your observations from different perspectives. Tentative list of participating museums includes: Earth and Mineral Sciences Museum, The Arboretum at Penn State, Frost Entomological Museum, Matson Museum of Anthropology, and PAC Herbarium.

This event is an extension of Penn State’s “Night at the Museums.”

This session will introduce participants to diverse nature journaling techniques. It will culminate with sharing our learnings and reflecting together. All ages, families, and individuals are welcome. We encourage parents to bring children who express genuine interest in nature drawing and to monitor their behavior. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult participant.
