Native plants for your garden!

When: April 27, 2019 – May 5, 2019
Add to Calendar: iCal | Google

On Saturday April 27, Shaver’s Creek is hosting a native plant sale for home gardeners and plant enthusiasts. The sale starts at 10 am and will continue throughout the week during regular hours for as long as plants last.
Native plants not only look beautiful in your garden, but they provide food and a habitat for native insects! Plus, these are all perennial varieties so they’ll keep coming back.

We will be offering 7 different species:
Aquilegia canadensis; wild columbine SOLD OUT
Chelone glabra; turtlehead
Heliopsis helianthoides; smooth oxeye SOLD OUT
Heuchera americana; “Dale’s strain”; coral bells
Lobelia cardinalis; cardinal flower SOLD OUT
Monarda didyma; bee balm SOLD OUT
Tiarella cordifolia; “oakleaf”; foamflower

This is part of a collaboration with Leslie Pillen, Associate Director, Farm and Food Systems; and Penn State student Deanna Homan as part of an Independent Study with the Sustainable Food Systems Program. We thank them for their support!
