Community Nature Journaling

Join Shaver’s Creek staff members Alexa Sarussi and Olivia Stas for a free, in-person, and socially distanced morning of nature journaling. July’s Community Nature Journaling focus will be… Undercover Critters!

We’ll be rolling logs to sketch and write about the furtive fauna that live just below the dank, dark forest floor! Local ecologist, Carli Dinsmore, will join us to share her wisdom of these insects, fungi, salamanders, and more. We are extending the length of this program to include an extra 1/2 hour for more exploration and journaling.

This session will introduce participants to diverse nature journaling techniques while exploring the trails around Shaver’s Creek. It will culminate with sharing our learnings and reflecting together. All ages, families, and individuals are welcome. We encourage parents to bring children who express genuine interest in nature drawing and to monitor their behavior. Youth participants must be accompanied by an adult participant.

Registration is capped at 20 participants.

This event is free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of Shaver’s Creek members.
