Do you have interest in learning and participating in a statewide citizen science project in your own backyard, nearby park, or in the classroom? Pennsylvania Amphibian and Reptile Survey (PARS) needs your help! Whether you’re a skilled scientist or an amateur naturalist, your sightings are important in understanding the distribution and status of all amphibians and reptiles throughout Pennsylvania.

Join Jon Kauffman at Shaver’s Creek for an in-depth view on how to find, record, and submit your observations of cold-blooded creatures in Pennsylvania. Participants will gain a better understanding of how PARS is conducted followed, then, by an exploration of Shaver’s Creek front pond and surrounding trails for any amphibians and reptiles. Please bring a flashlight and dress according to the weather as this will be a rain or shine event.

All ages welcome. Pre-registration is preferred. The event is free thanks to the support of our members; however, we will accept donations.
